Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Two local fund-raisers have been planned to assist the Adcox family – a bake sale at City Market on Sept. 16 at 8 a.m. and a hamburger supper at Schulenburg ISD cafeteria on Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. Weston was a fifth grader at Schulenburg Elementary School.

There is also an online gofundme page at www.gofundme.com/weston-memorial that has been set up to help with medical and funeral expenses. That page notes that Weston passed away from a medical condition after being taken by air ambulance to Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin.

On Tuesday, Sept. 5 at about 12:30 p.m., Medic 4 was paged to the Schulenburg ISD cafeteria for an unresponsive fifth grader, according to Fayette County EMS Director Sharon Muzny. The ambulance crew arrived to find the Schulenburg ISD staff performing CPR, she said.

Medic 4 was able to regain a pulse and took the patient to the helipad near the Sports Complex to meet PHI Air Medical, which flew the patient to Dell Children's Medical Center, according to Muzny.

Muzny said Schulenburg first responders also assisted and commended SISD staff for doing a good job during this medical emergency.
